earable is a sustainable pop - up apparel store that was released in March 2021 by Bruno Dedeyne and Maarten Chys, with the support of Studio Lam. During this month, we sold exclusive shirts with a cute koala for the a good cause called One Tree Planted.
We are proud to announce that our project helped the global reforestation in Australia by planting 1003(!) trees. We focus on more than just sustainability, we focus on planting new trees and giving back to nature.
Next to the multiple labels (GOTS, fairtrade, CO2 neutral, ...) the benefits of this projects goes straight to the reforestation in Australia.
Australia is globally hardest hit by forest fires the last years. Apart from the fact that our trees help fight the global warming, they are able to filter the more than 400 million tons of CO2 (!) that was released during forest fires.
We did not only help fight the global warming, we supported the koala's by giving them new trees and new food!
A vicious circle has been started.
The forest fires in Australia released more than 400 million tons of CO2 in the atmosphere. The rising level of CO2, in combination with the millions of small particles and the deforestation of more than 19 (!) million hectares, only accelerates the global warming.
The koala's are endangered!
Apart from the millions of people that are affected by the forest fires, lots of koala's lost their homes and trees... Many koala's died, are starving of lost their homes.
Scientifique researches made statements that without action, koala's will be extinct by 2050. By reforestation, we help repair the natural habitat of the koala's to a healthy eco system.
Together, we can prevent the extinction of the koala's and help fight the global warming.
